John J. Comte

A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 15th, 2007 for 73-year-old John J. Comte of Perryville, who died Sunday, August 12th at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 10th, 1933 in Perryville, the son of Leo and Mildred Taplan Comte, who both preceded him in death.

He married Ida Baggett on June 20th, 1966. She survives in Jacksonville, Texas.

He is also survived by six sons and five daughters in law: John and Karen Comte of House Springs; Michael and Mary Comte of Perryville; Steve and Tena Comte of Jacksonville, Texas; Mark and Bonnie Comte of Perryville; Kevin and Julia Comte of Perryville; and Joseph Comte of Perryville;

Two daughters and sons in law, Connie and Lawrence Schumer of Perryville and Doris and Don Pitt of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters and brothers in law, Cathy and Dennis Schumer of Perryville and Yvonne and Emery Kearnes of Perryville; 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters.

He was a union carpenter and member of Local No. 1739 in St. Louis. He was also a member of the National Guard.

He was of the Catholic faith and member of the American Legion Booster Club.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. this (Tuesday, August 14th) evening and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 73-year-old John J. Comte of Perryville will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rev. Hank Grodecki CM will officiate.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to family choice.
