Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 13^th, 2007 for 78-year-old Rev. Kenneth Grass, CM of Perryville, who died Thursday, August 9^th, 2007 at the Apostle of Charity Residence.

He was born May 27^th, 1929 in Perryville, the son of Joseph and Ida (McClure) Grass. They preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sisters and two brothers in law, Delores Phillips of Winter Haven, FL, Doris and Brad Feltman of O’Fallon. Roberta and Thomas Jerome of Waterloo, IL.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

He entered Novitate at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville May 19^th, 1947, He professed his vows there May 1^st, 1949, was ordained a deacon there October 7^th, 1955, and was ordained a priest there May 27^th, 1956.

His Canonical house assignments from 1953 to 1994 included St. Johns Seminary in San Antonio, TX, St. Mary’s Seminary in Perryville and Santa Barbara, CA, St. Catherine Laboure Church in St. Louis, St. Vincent de Paul in Perryville and Cape Girardeau, and St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville. He held Superior assignments at St. Mary’s Seminary in Santa Barbara and the St. Vincent de Paul Church in St. Louis.

His Apostolate assignments from 1993 to the time of his death were Associate at St. Vincent de Paul Church in St. Louis, Senior Confrere in Service and Senior Confrere in Residence at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 12^th at the Apostle of Charity Residence in the St. Mary’s Seminary in Perryville. Visitation continues from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13^th at the St. Mary’s of the Barrens Church in Perryville.

Funeral Mass for Rev. Kenneth Grass, CM of Perryville will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13^th, 2007 at the St. Mary’s of the Barrens Church. The Very Rev. James Swift will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville.

The Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville handled all arrangements.
