August H. ‘Gus’ Buchheit A funeral will be held Monday, December 24th, 2007 for 88-year-old August H. "Gus" Buchheit who died Friday, December 21st at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He married Mabel Warren on November 6th, 1944 in Long Island, New York. She survives in Perryville. He is also survived by four sons: Steve Buchheit of Springfield, Daniel Buchheit of Columbia, Stanley Buchheit of Chester, Illinois and Bruce Buchheit of Perryville; one daughter, Joan Jany of Chester, Illinois; two brothers, Urban Buchheit of St. Louis and Edgar Buchheit of Perryville; three sisters: Laura Buerck of St. Louis, Mary Ann Rellergert of Apple Creek and Regina Zoellner of Perryville; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three sisters. He worked for Robinson and Schumer Heating and Plumbing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, a third degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of American Legion Post No. 133. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, December 23rd and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, December 24th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. Sunday and the Rosary will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A funeral for 88-year-old August H. "Gus" Buchheit will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 24th at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek. The Rev. Tony Datillo will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Apple Creek with graveside military honors by the American Legion Post No. 133. |
