Cletus M. Brown
He was born January 4th, 1920 in St. Mary, the son of Merlin V. and Judie M. (Hudson) Brown, who both preceded him in death. He married Retha L. Gale on April 25th, 1943. She preceded him in death. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Marion and Patti Brown of St. Mary; a brother in law and his wife, Charles "Pete" and Helen Gale of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Tyson, Kelly, Shawna and Renee and seven great grandchildren: Alexis, Serenity, Bobbi Jo, Joey, Dalton, Devon and Waylon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert; a brother, Melvin; and a sister, Clolida. He was an agriculture and livestock farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perryville, American Legion Post No. 133 and VFW Post No. 4282. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, July 27th and 6:30-11 a.m. Saturday, July 28th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A funeral for 87-year-old Cletus M. Brown of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rev. Gerald McBride will officiate. Burial will be in the Home Cemetery with military graveside service provided by VFW Post No. 4282. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown. |
