A funeral was held Saturday, June 16^th, 2007 for 87-year-old Marietta L. Gilmer of Chaffee who died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 17, 1920, daughter of Carl William and Laura Lena Webb Mantel.

She married Louis O. Gilmer Dec. 23, 1936. He preceded her in death.

She was a retired florist and had owned and operated Gilmer's Flowers and Gifts in Chaffee. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Ron and Christine Gilmer of Perryville; two daughters and sons in law, Judy and Warren Millham of St. Charles and Linda and Thomas Little of Jackson; a brother, Mike Mantel of Chaffee; two sisters, Barbara Arnold and Bonnie Rister of Chaffee; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Davis; a brother, C.E. Mantel; and a son-in-law, Ray Davis.

The funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with the Rev. Jack Bishop officiating.

Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
