John H. Brune A funeral service will be held Friday, March 16th, 2007 for 87-year-old John H. Brune of Friedheim, who died Tuesday, March 13th, 2007 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He married Lillian Dambach September 6th, 1942. She survives in Perryville. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Charles and Anna Brune of Perryville; three daughters and a son in law, Joan and William Layton of Perryville, Shirley Moore of Glasgow, KY, Jannette Barks of Hopkinsville, KY; two brothers, Clyde "Bill" Brune of Sedgewickville, Kelly Brune of Friedheim; six sisters, Mary D. Brune of Perryville, Verna L. Hobeck of Daisy, Jean Sims of Sun City, AZ, Ruth Kutscher of St. Louis, Loral Brune of Perryville, Dorothy Buck of Parma, OH; eight grandchildren, three with spouses, Tammy and Wes Sparkman, Lisa and Dale Buerck, Casey and Michael Font, Misty Friese, Shiela Moore, Deanna Moore, John Barks and Shannon Barks; eight great grandchildren, Tiarra and Jacob Sparkman, Joshua and Jaydn Buerck, Benjamin and Zacharia Font, Katharine Friese and Jaylin Barks. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Carl and Cleo Brune. He was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 9th Army Division. His awards included the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European Theater of Operations Ribbon with three battle stars, and sharpshooter medal. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4282 and was co-founder of the DAV, was Perry County Assessor for 36 years, and was a past president of the Missouri Assessors Association (he held other state-level offices with the Association). Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 15th, and from 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, March 16th at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. A funeral for 87-year-old John H. Brune of Friedheim will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16th, 2007 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery, with military graveside honors provided by the Delta Team. You may make memorials to Saxony Lutheran High School or to the Immanuel Lutheran School. |
