Mildred L. ‘Mitzie’ Abbott
She was born July 14th, 1927 in Jackson, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Nitsch) Myer, who both preceded her in death. She married William M. Abbott on November 4th, 1950. He survives in Perryville. She is also survived by a daughter and son in law, Mary Theresa and Weldon Valleroy of Perryville; two sons and daughters in law, Harry and Jackie Abbott of Oak Ridge and Larry and Helen Abbott of Perryville; a foster son, Richard Kirn of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Daisy Koch of Cape Girardeau; a brother in law; three sisters in law; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two foster grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry; six brothers, Joe, Lee, Robert, Donald, Richard and Paul and two sisters, Mary Bollinger and Dorothy Smith. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Ladies' Sodality. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday, May 25th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A funeral mass for 79-year-old Mildred L. "Mitzie" Abbott of Perryville, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 26th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Fausz CM will officiate. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent School System. |
