Royce A. Alms

A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 9th for 50-year-old Royce A. Alms of Perryville, who died Friday, May 4th at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 28th, 1957 in Chester, Illinois, the son of Harold C. and Edith W. (Lehmberg) Alms who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by a brother and sister in law, Rev. Dr. Maurice and Linda Alms of Livingston, Illinois; five sisters and brothers in law, Vivian and Robert Earlenbaugh of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Loretta and Robert Schuette of Steeleville, Illinois, Marilyn and Rev. Dr. Donald Sandman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Roberta and Ryan Rutherford of Lyman, Nebraska and Sandra and Dale Koenig of Perryville and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Alms and a sister, Eunice Alms.

He was a clerk at AutoZone and a former assistant manager at the Wal Mart in Chester.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, where he was a church elder and member of the Men's Choir, Breakfast Bible Study Group and was an avid St. Louis Blues fan.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 8th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 50-year-old Royce A. Alms of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. The Rev. Christopher Cole will officiate.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 9th from noon to 12:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 12:30 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Wine Hill) in Steeleville, Illinois.

Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery (Wine Hill) in Steeleville, Illinois with the Rev. Tim Ziechel officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Men's Choir in Perryville or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Wine Hill) in Steeleville, Illinois.
