Joseph L. ‘Colonel Joe’ Blandford A funeral will be held Monday, October 22nd, 2007 for 77-year-old Joseph "Colonel Joe" L. Blandford of Perryville, who died Thursday, October 18th at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
He married Lillian Ernst on April 7th, 1951 in Belgique. She survives in Perryville. He is also survived by a daughter, Bonnie Prost of Perryville; a son, Curtis Blandford of Perryville; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Streibel and a grandson. He was a farmer and auctioneer, member of the Elks Lodge No. 2701 in Perryville and Sons of AmVets Post No. 94. He was a member of the Christ, the Savior, Catholic Church in Brewer. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, October 21st and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, October 22nd at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake will be held at 6 p.m. and the AmVets service will follow Sunday at the funeral home. A funeral mass for 77-year-old Joseph L. "Colonel Joe" Blandford will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 22nd at the Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer. The Rev. Bill Rhinehart, CM, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Hospital, the American Cancer Society, St. Vincent schools or a charity of choice. |
