Claude L. Deckard A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 5th, 2007 for 75-year-old Claude L. Deckard of Perryville, who died Saturday, September 1st at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He married Alice F. Maxin on September 18th, 1954 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She survives in Perryville. He is also survived by two daughters and sons in law, Jean and Bill Allen of Altenburg and Cathy and Lance Hutchison of Woodlawn, Illinois; a son and daughter in law, Michael and Stacy Deckard of Coulterville, Illinois; and five grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections, working at the Menard Correctional Center in Chester. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 133 and VFW Post No. 4282. He was also a member of the NRA and the Illinois Police Association. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 4th and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A VFW service will be held at 6:30 p.m., a parish wake will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5th for 75-year-old Claude L. Deckard of Perryville at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno. The Rev. Bill Rhinehart, CM, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery will military honors by the American Legion Post No. 133. |
