Helen M Henson

A funeral will be held Monday, September 24th, 2007 for 86-year-old Helen M. Henson of Perryville who died Thursday, September 20th at the Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born November 16th, 1920 in McBride, the daughter of Theodore A. and Flora H. (Meyer) Mecker who both preceded her in death.

She married LeRoy "Duffy" Henson on May 3rd, 1942. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter and son in law Sue and Bob Dunker of Perryville; a son and daughter in law, Phil and Carol Henson of Riverview, MI; two sisters and brothers in law, Bernice and Harold Weber of Perryville, Alice and Fred Nelson of St. Charles; four grandchildren and spouses, John and Sasha Henson, Marsha and Bruce Parker, Andrea and Charles Grey, Kristine and Bill Nolin; and four great grandchildren, Andrew Parker, Alexandria Henson, David J. henson and Tyler Grey.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Mecker.

She was retired from the Bank of Perryville, now the Bank of Missouri.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved golfing, fishing, playing cards and singing in the choir, but the joy of her life was watching her grandchildren grow up, graduate college and marry.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, September 23rd and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Monday, September 24th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 86-year-old Helen M. Henson of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 24th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. The Rev. Christopher Cole will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Choir.
